# SMS Communication Consent
SnapSeenSend provides SMS notifications to patients related to referral and appointment coordination.
## How Patients Opt In
Patients receive a text message only after a referring provider submits a consultation request through the SnapSeenSend platform. By providing their phone number as part of the referral process, the patient consents to receive a transactional SMS message confirming that the referral has been received.
## Message Purpose
Messages are strictly transactional and may include:
• Referral confirmation
• Notification that the office will contact the patient to schedule an appointment
No marketing or promotional messages are sent.
## Message Frequency
Patients will receive **one SMS message per referral request**.
## Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply depending on the patient's mobile carrier.
## Opt-Out Instructions
Patients may opt out of SMS communication at any time by replying:

SnapSeenSend does **not include protected health information (PHI)** in SMS messages.
